DELIRIUM CAFE USA TO OPEN IN DOWNTOWN LEESBURG
First Location of International Franchise to Open in the United States

LEESBURG, VA - April 27, 2017- Delirium Café USA has plans to open soon in historic downtown Leesburg. The cafe will occupy the 167 year old building formerly occupied by Creme de la Creme, as well as the adjoining 217 year old space that was home to Sugar Magnolia. The Leesburg location will be the first in the United States for the internationally lauded Belgian beer brand.

Owner and manager Curtis Allred is a popular fixture in the Loudoun food and drink scene, having managed Shoes, Cup, and Cork and Fireworks Pizza. Allred is a certified Sommelier and Cicerone (the beer equivalent) who cut his teeth in the Manhattan food scene before working for a mix of fine dining and casual establishments in the greater metro DC area. Allred’s Delirium Café will bring a new twist to the concept first forged in Europe and now in 16 locations throughout the world including Tokyo and Rio di Janeiro. The menu offerings will include foods produced and grown locally as well as French-inspired cuisine reminiscent of the Belgian experience. The bar menu will feature the full Delirium Tremens lineup along with nearly 300 beers from around the world, including many local favorites, and 26 taps to start.

Delirium Café will offer unique benefits to their regular customers, including an annual membership for a personal “beer locker” where exclusive releases will be kept cold, waiting for them to enjoy. Though, says Allred, all guests will enjoy an exceptional level of hospitality: “our vision is to be a regular spot for both locals as well as visitors from all over the country and world. We welcome all guests, especially those seeking to engage in new experiences, to relive fond memories of travel abroad, to enjoy new flavors, or to relish in ones longed for.”

Allred will be joined by Loudoun native and well-known beer expert, Aislin Kavaldjian. Kavaldjian, a local artist and musician, will be a familiar face to many beer, music, and art lovers in the area. Kavaldjian has worked with a number of Northern Virginia breweries and knows her market well. She aims to bridge the gap between locally sourced fare with the traditional Belgian café experience. Says Kavaldjian of her goals, “I hope to bring a sophisticated, passionate, and fun culture to the café.”

Delirium Café is slated to open the second week in May, and has already generated a lot of buzz from the local community. Their Facebook page has nearly 1500 followers and they receive regular inquiries about their opening date. Delirum Café recently launched their website, deliriumcafeusa.com, where merchandise sales have already been notable. “When we decided to bring Delirium Café to the area, we knew we had something special. We didn't realize how much support was there not just from the beer community, but how overwhelming it's been from all facets of our community. We've had well wishes from folks who regularly travel to the DMV for business, tourists, the town and county governments, economic development and most importantly, the folks living here in our community. The original café began in the basement of a row house just off the Grand Place in downtown Brussels.
